Salem HOG State Airports Ride - 2008
Rules for Salem HOG Participants 19-January-2008

1. Get a picture of you, your bike, and 2008 Salem HOG sign at each of the airports on the attached visit log.
a. Airports are the ones identified on the attached log (submit with pictures)
b. One Picture per member counts but take as many as you like.
c. If you are riding alone, a pictures without you in them will be accepted (note: a portable tripod work great when riding alone – Robert Grove has
several and will loan them)
d. Pictures may be either printed or digital.
e. Pictures should be sorted by airport (i.e. on a page with the airport name or in a folder with the airport name if submitted electronically)
f. Pictures must be turned in by the November HOG meeting.
g. Picture should include an easily recognizable feature of the airport. [A sign with the name of the airport is preferred.]
(Note: signs near the airport such as road signs with the airport name that point to the airport are acceptable as long as they are reasonably close to
the airport)
h. Official 2008 HOG signs are available at meetings and in the HOG room at the dealer. If you don’t have one with you, you may make a substitute
sign – As long as it says 2008 and Salem HOG and can be seen in the picture – it counts. Hint: The yellow official signs do not reflect bright
light like a white sign. White signs can bleed out in bright light
2. Special rules for Owyhee State Airport (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REACH OWYHEE STATE BY ROAD)
a. A picture of the Owyhee reservoir dam or the “glory hole” can be substituted.
b. The airport can be reached by air or by boat. Attempting to reach the airport by road is not safe and the BLM has closed the road access about 9
miles from the airport. It is not safe to attempt to even reach the point where the road is closed – please don’t.
c. A motorcycle might reach the airport if barged over from the other side of the reservoir. It might make for an interesting picture – but it is not
necessary.
3. RIDE SAFE – HAVE FUN
a. Pictures and stories along the way would be much appreciated by Bob Fanshier for the chapter newsletter and by Patty our historian.
